Description

Anadrol (Oxandrolone) is a synthetic steroid, ring A of which is a heterocycle in which the second carbon atom is replaced by an oxygen atom. Oxandrolone is widely known for its extremely low level of androgenic activity along with a high anabolic index.

Initially, oxandrolone was developed for the treatment of weakened HIV-infected patients with Turner's syndrome, anemia, for recovery after burns, strengthening bones, but soon it began to be actively used in bodybuilding, after which Anavar was included in the list of controlled drugs.

Effects of taking Anadrol

Side effects

Despite the fact that oxandrolone is an alpha-17-alkylated steroid, its toxic effect on the liver is insignificant. Studies show that Anavar in a dose of 20 mg per day, taken for 12 weeks, has no effect on the level of liver enzymes (indicators of liver damage). Symptoms of liver damage include pain in the right hypochondrium, light-colored stools, and dark urine.

Since Anavar is a derivative of dihydrotestosterone, it is not aromatized (does not turn into estrogens, which cause such side effects as gynecomastia and fluid retention in the body).

Oxandrolone does not have a significant effect on the level of production of own testosterone in moderate doses (it does not suppress the hypothalamus-pituitary-testicles by the feedback mechanism). When the dosage of Anavar is high, the body reacts by reducing the production of gonadotropin, assuming that the endogenous level of testosterone is too high. Lack of stimulation of Leydig cells leads to testicular atrophy. Oxandrolone used in a dose of 80 mg per day suppresses testosterone by 67% after 12 weeks of administration.

Suppression of testosterone production is manifested by a decrease in libido and a sluggish erection. This side effect of oxandrolone can be eliminated by adding a gonadotropin to the course, or conducting combined courses with androgenic drugs.

Also, sometimes there are side effects of Anavar, such as decreased appetite, stomach pains, nausea, headaches, increased blood pressure, and some others.
